Animal life comes and goes in cycles. One species will over run another, they disappear for a while, then come back.
I remember when i was a kid, robins were all over the place, then disappeared almost completely. Then a few years later, they were back but not in large numbers.
Rabbits in louisiana were plentiful until fire ants showed up, they kill the young, and reduce the population. With the regular predators like coyotes and owls, this will drop the population sharply. While we still have rabbits, it is not near as much as it used to be.
People are only around for a short time on this earth. Some of the ‘more ancient’ people around can tell you stories about how the environment changes.
We only see what has happened for a short period of time, the cycle has been changing for thousands of years, but since we dont see it, and have only been keeping accurate records for around 50 years, sometimes things seem disastrous.
Enjoy your critters while you can and dont worry, generations in the future will enjoy them too.

How do you come out to a friend?
I am in college, and I am closeted. It is getting to that point where I am about to come out to the select few who I want to know. I want to tell my roommate he has become a close friend of me. However, today I was walking to class, and we were talking and the gay issue came up and he told me, “Dude, wouldn’t it have sucked if your roommate was a flamer that was all over you and stuff? That would suck.” I didn’t let it hurt my feelings, if he knew I was gay he wouldn’t have said it. However, he is conservative and believes it is wrong, I still think I want to tell him. He obviously has no clue I am gay obviously, I don’t have the lisp and I have no big things that stand out that yell I am gay. It’s just I still think he would look at me different. Also, he wants to room with me next which really wants me to tell him because even though I haven’t been with a male yet, I don’t want to fling it on him one night by bringing a guy up. Should I tell him? Would it be weird to tell him that I am not attracted to him (nor will I ever will be because he is not my type and plus he has a girlfriend and I respect that relationship)? For the few straight people that might read this, would you prefer if that was said? I just don’t want to ruin a friendship, nor a person who I can live with so easily. We are both night owls, have the same nerdy hobbies, and have the same humor and friends. I don’t want to lose it. But then again, isn’t that the main fear of coming out?
Also I have another friend with his views. She told me about a friend of hers came out and she said that she wished it wasn’t in person so she could puke. When I come out should I tell her over the phone and say “I didn’t do it in person because I know it would make you puke” would that be rude, or funny?

What animal is biting the heads off of my chickens at night, and what attracts them?
OK so last night my mom heard this noise when she was in bed last night, and this morning we found a few chickens with their heads bitten off, and the rest of their bodies were left there. This morning also my mom found a hole in the chicken coop where the animal could’ve gotten in. We think its a weasel, or an owl, but we don’t know. What animal could this be? Also tonight im going to be sitting on top of my chicken coop camoflauged in. What’s the best camo to use so this animal doesn’t see/attack me? What attracts this animal so I could get it near me? Also, I plan to kill it with my Pumpmaster 760 pellet gun. Thanks so much!

admin answers:
An owl?? An owl, fox, coon, coyote will eat the chicken.. They won’t leave it there.
It’s probably a weasel. Trapping will be a better choice.. Also don’t sit on the roof, lay down on it so you’ll blend in more… A wild animal will notice differences like that and they will hide better when they see something is out of the ordinary. Besides, I’d use a .22.. Not a pellet gun..
Another tip– read over the answers you have gotten on the other 3 questions which are very similar to this one.

How to get rid of noisy bird?
Oh my gosh you should hear it! It makes many different sounds! Sorry but its sooo annoying! No matter what time of day it is its always there! Even middle of night like past 1am! I dont know what kind of bird it is, but i can describe it to be skinny, small i think its grayish black but cant seem to get a close view of the color. We do have fruit trees and so does neighbors, grass (now dry weeds) are all around, so i kno these attract them. Last time when i lived at my parents, I wished for this bird to “go away”, I think it was a Robin, this bird died the next day =(. I would hate to think for same of this bird haha! Does a fake owl really work to scare them off? Or what alternatives are there that doesn’t involve anything bad?

admin answers:
You know what works great?
Ear plugs
Fans and window air conditioners
White noise machines
Radios
All native wild birds are protected by law. You cannot harm them for any reason.
Be thankful it’s a bird, and not gunfire.
