Your Questions About Attracting Men

William asks…

Do you ladies keep your feet nice in hopes of attracting men ?

IT WORKS FOR ME!!!! I have a very powerful foot fetish!!! When a woman has nice feet, I think it is a sign that she takes alot of pride in herself!!!! :>)

admin answers:

I take care of my feet for myself…

Not to attract men. Most men don’t have foot fetishes like you.

Chris asks…

What is it with this category attracting angry men?

There seems to be less emphasis on gender studies, and more emphasis on feminist baiting.

admin answers:

As Dark Eyes said, there are a lot of angry people all over this site. I don’t know what it is about this site that attracts them but it does. This section tends to attract sexists, and in particular since it was called Gender and Women’s Studies for a long time, sexist men. However, because of the general angry tone all over the site, and because of how over-the-top it often is, it’s hard to tell how much of it is truly sexism and how much of it is just trolling. Some things are clearly trolling, some are clearly legitimate, but most of it is hard to tell.

It doesn’t help this is a fairly easy category to troll. All you really have to do is say something along the lines of “women get back in the kitchen” and you’ll set off a good fight.

Mandy asks…

Why do some girls take pride in attracting Black men?

No offense to Black guys, but I’ve noticed that some women will say that Black men like them and they’ll say things like “Black men love me!” and stuff, but don’t Black men hit on women constantly?? The way Black men talk to me, and shout out to me and treat me when I’m just walking past and stuff, I always seemed to me like they must hit on a billion women a day.

admin answers:

I don’t I want them to approach me but I seem to attract everybody but them. LOL

Maria asks…

Why do you think the Christian church seems to have problems attracting men in the local churches?

admin answers:

They do? I’ve never heard nor seen that. Any sources?

Linda asks…

Why do I keep attracting old men?

I’m only 19 and 50 year old men keep hitting on me, some who are even married! I’m not really all that attractive and I never wear “scantily clad” clothing, or anything obscene. I’m actually quite shy and well reserved.
I don’t know what signals I keep sending off to make this happen. What usually attracts older men to younger women like this and how do I prevent it?

No, I don’t go hanging around bars or clubs and flirt, one guy was actually my college professor.

admin answers:

Forgive the bluntness of my reply, but here are my hypotheses (educated guesses):

You have no baggage:
1) you likely have not given birth to any children and/or have no children to take care of
2) you have no notable boyfriend(s)……… And even if you did, they’d be no match (physically, financially, and in other aspects) for the 50+ year old man or men that are interested in you.

The men are pervs… Perhaps potential pedos….. If not already pedos:
3) even if you dress conservatively, ALL males undress you (in their minds), and the fact that you’re still dressed makes them think that you’re resisting. They probably/likely feel like since in their minds that you’re ‘resisting’ that is a kind of turn-on for them. They’d think of it as a ‘do-able’ challenge.

4) they’ve fantasized about having sex with minor, or somebody who is just around the legal age or a year or so over the legal age……… (or secretly, they probably already have “done it” with a minor). I’ll give you 5 guesses on what kind of videos and photos you’re likely to find, if you ever gain access to their computer’s hard drives.

5) they’ve missed their chance at having a young girl for a girlfriend, while they themselves were at the prime of their youth……. So they’ve missed their opportunity to have that kind of relationship. That is, at least until they met you. Now, they’d see it as an opportunity knocking twice.

6) some guys don’t really care if you’re attractive or not. The fact that they’re going after something so highly questionable is a turn-on in and of itself (at least to them). If society deems it as taboo, they probably have the type of personality that refuses to conform, most especially if they feel like they can get away with it.

7) they are convinced they can get away with it.

admin answers:

It depends. You can grow flowers that attract butterflies, but you don’t have to grow the plants that they will lay eggs on.

E.g. Monarch butterflies love buddleia flowers, but won’t lay their eggs on them.

Sharon asks…

WHICH SPECIES OF BUDDLEIA IS BEST FOR ATTRACTING BUTTERFLY’S AND BEES?

There are a few types of Buddleia plant in Britain, but which is the best for attracting Butterfly’s and Bees to the garden? I think its the one with the purple flower. I want to choose and plant the best one.

admin answers:

The plant you’re talking about is Buddleja davidii, which has been bred into a wide range of cultivars. All of them are equally good at drawing butterflies with their sweet nectar. These varieties can vary in height or flower color, and some even offer variegated leaves. If you have a smallish garden, be aware that these can grow quite large at maturity unless you select a more dwarf form. While you’re looking for a purple flower, knowing if you want dark royal purple or more of a lavender purple dictates which variety is best.

Below are some links to profiles of some of the finest purple buddleja plant profiles which include size and other characteristics. Black Knight is the top purple variety that is most widely available. Though Adonis Blue is less purple in color, it is one of the English Butterfly series of hybrids that offer smaller more manageable plants bred in Britain and readily available there.

Your Questions About Attracting Dragonflies

Steven asks…

how to attract dragonflies?

i am doing a project for school and i need to know how to attract alot of them without making a pond.

admin answers:

Dragonflies eat other insects and find mosquitos yummy. Sorry, you won’t be able to attract dragonflies without creating a haven for mosquitos (can be a garbage can lid filled with water).

David asks…

are dragonflies attracted to bright shiny things?

admin answers:

Dragonflies are not really attracted to water, they are attracted more to the insects around water and swampy areas. I don’t think there is any real way to attract them to an area, because their lifespan is way to short. Once a dragonfly morphs from its nymph stage into the fly itself it will only live for 24 to 36 hours. Most of its time is spent eating the rest of its time is spent doing the nasty and laying eggs to make more dragon flies.

Thomas asks…

Survey: What would attract a dragonfly to a person?

Every time my husband goes fishing lake/river/pond/creek and I go with the dragonflies literally land on me ? Are they attracted to certain colors, whether it be clothing or other items.

admin answers:

Well, when it comes to myself, everything is attracted to me because I’m so hot, so I don’t know how to answer this in..normal people terms.

Robert asks…

What do Dragonflies do to the environment?

What kind of stuff they eat or what. Do they attract birds or wasps or anything?

admin answers:

Dragonflies eat mosquito ‘s an other small insects.

Donna asks…

how do dragonflies attract a mate?

admin answers:

Males have to display their egg laying site to the female. Then the female indicates if she is willing to mate and this is usually done by way of curving the abdomen. The male then proceeds to clasp the female.

The male has appendages at the end of its abdomen which help him to clasp the female and the size and position of these clasps fits only the right species. He may either fly in tandem with the female or bring her down to a stationary position by clasping the back of her head. The male flaps his wings and flexes his abdomen to indicate readiness to which the female responds. They may even curl to make their abdomens meet, in which case they form a heart (also known as the wheel position). Once the sperm is transferred, the male may leave or remain attached to the female to make sure that she does not mate further and in some instances till she oviposits the eggs either on water or by depositing them in plants with the help of her sharp ovipositor.

Your Questions About Attracting Owls

Mary asks…

How to photograph owls?

I am going to photograph owls in my area using owl calls (It’s not breeding season, and I won’t play it for long, just until I get a few pictures) to attract owls and take pictures. Since owls are nocturnal, I was wondering if the flash would affect them. I was reading that it can temporarily blind them for an hour..Is this true? If so, would they be able to find enough food in the night?

Also, what are other things I can photograph during the night, if I do not find any?
I am trying to attract the following owls :
Snowy owl
Great horned owl
Long eared owl
Eastern screech owl.

admin answers:

The myth that electronic flash is harmful to eyes is simply hogwash, if not harmless paranoia. The duration of the flash is short, in the range of 1/1000 sec. Or less. The amount of energy that reaches the retina is miniscule. If there is any damage at all, lawyers would have sued the manufacturers of electronic flashes with class action suits that will result in the flash manufacturers discontinuing their products. If you stare into the sun, then you can do some real damage. You can see the kind of damage the sun can do, if you use a magnifying glass and focus the sun’s rays onto a piece of paper. It will char and even burn the paper, in much the same way that it will burn your retina. Even so, it takes quite a few seconds for the damage to occur. So, unless you have a flash that puts out as much light as the sun and you can make it last 10 seconds or longer, there is no damage.

Lisa asks…

Does an owl attract bad energy?

I’ll admit, I am a bit superstitious and paranoid, but I’m also a little religious. I have a journal with the face of an owl on the cover, it’s actually pretty neat. I haven’t exactly used the journal yet, but I’d definetely like to, and I was wondering, since I’m paranoid and all, would it attract any sort of bad energy? I hear it’s spiritual meaning is death, or also wisdom… I hope I’m making sense.

admin answers:

No the image in and of itself will not attract any negative energy.

Joseph asks…

Need help on Barn Owls!!!!!!!!!!?

I decided to make a barn owl box in shop at my school and i was wandering what can i put in it to attract my owls? Certain food? or woodchips inside?

admin answers:

There really isn’t a specific food that you could put in the box (it would be kind of difficult keeping live rodents and rabbits inside an owl box). The best way to attract owls is to place the box in a suitable location (in a stand of trees overlooking a field perhaps) at a suitable height (at least 10-12 feet off the ground). A thin layer of wood chips or shavings wouldn’t hurt. You could scrape the inside of the box to make it rough inside to better mimic a natural tree cavity and possibly give the owls and their young more grip (this is a critical step in making Wood Duck boxes so the fledglings can leave the box, and it’s not so critical to owls, but once again, it can’t hurt). I really can’t think of much more. Make sure you have some airflow through the box for ventilation.

Sandy asks…

How do you attract hummingbirds?

I just got a hummingbird feeder about six days ago. I hung it on a shady tree im my back yard. I live in a city area, and the bird feeder is red. It is not near any other bird feeders, because my parents only like hummingbirds.
The thing is, it’s been up for six days now, and I haven’t seen one hummingbird. Is there anything I can do to attract these magnificent birds? Thank you so much in advance!!!!

admin answers:

In the NY CT area hummingbirds generally arrive around May 1st but I’ve had them as early as mid April. They leave the area in September. This has been their schedule for the last 10 years or so.
They are very active in the early AM and at twilight. I do not use the red coloring sold in stores but just boil 2 cups of water for about 5 minutes, add 1/2 cup of sugar, mix and boil another minute or two and let cool. The mix is 4:1. Any surplus can be refrigerated but I make just what my feeders hold. You should change it every 10 days or so even if you don’t get any birds to keep it fresh. Seems once they find your source they’ll come back. I don’t know how well you’ll do in a city area. I’m in the suburbs with lots of trees and enjoy them every summer. Good luck.

Your Questions About Attracting Bats

Ruth asks…

Will a bat house attract bats and will it help with our REAL BAD mosquito problem?

We live in the city and our yard to unusable due to the mosquitos. Out in the country we never had a problem. There was a cave nearby with bats… and barns with barnswallows that ate mosquitos also. Are there bats in cities? (middle TN)

admin answers:

Bats are an ineffective choice for mosquito control!

“Attract bats to your backyard with a bat-roost box and your mosquito problems are over. Right? Wrong! Studies have shown that while bats devour a huge number of insects, mosquitoes are only a small part of their diet. A study of fecal pellets of bats in Indiana conducted throughout an entire summer revealed that the primary food items were beetles, moths, and leafhoppers. A very small number of mosquitoes (0.7%) were found in the stomachs of bats in another study. Bats are “selective opportunists” when it comes to their feeding habits, and they will take a variety of prey. Why take a scrawny little mosquito when you can have a fat juicy moth? Unfortunately, mosquitoes are just not a significant part of their diet. The evidence from stomach analysis and feces examination does not justify the hypothesis that insectivorous bats specialize on particular types of insects.”

Recently the Colorado Department of Public Health advised that bats can be infected with rabies, and that attempting to attract bats to your yard may increase the potential for human disease.

Linda asks…

where can i get a device that makes a noise that attracts bats?

i love bats and to be around them i was wondering where i could buy a device the attracts lots of bats or if i could have one made sort of like the thing off batman begins
OH NEED THEM TO FOLLOW ME EVERY WERE I GO AT NIGHT THAT IS WHAT IT IS FOR NOT SO THE CAN HANG OUT IN MY BACK YARD

admin answers:

They aren’t attracted by noise.

To try and attract them, put a light in the garden which will attract moths and the bats should come to feed on the moths (if there are any bats around.)
I have more bats around the street lamp at the front of my house than I have in the dark back garden.

I think the sound thing you mean is a bat detector box so you can listen to the bats when it is too dark to see them.

My bat detector came from these people.

Daniel asks…

what attracts bats inside our homes?

we had 4 bats coming into our house, a few days ago. There must be something attracting them here. maybe it is the same bat coming back again and again. is there a way that i can distract their attention away from here?

admin answers:

It very well could be the same bat returning. There are two factors to keeping them out.

One is checking and repairing the entry spot they use to get in.

The other is to provide an alternative because according to the experts, bats tend to return to a spot. Buy a bat box (also called a bat house) for him to hide away. Below is an online link plus you can call your local Lowes, HomeDepot or hardware store.

Be safe – there’s rabies and other diseases.

Nancy asks…

Do bathouses really attract bats?

Donna asks…

How do I attract more bats to my yard?

If anyone out there has had any success I’d like to know how you pulled it off. Right now we’ve got a few but would like a lot more. We live out in the sticks only a few hundred feet from a year-round water source (I read that’s a requirement). So where are they? What to do?

Many thanks in advance.

admin answers:

Try using sound..some kina sonar intsrument..practise on the bats alredy in youre yard..see how it effects them..or other wise..get a peice of cardboard and cut out a shape of a bat..then get a strong torch light and shine it in the sky around 10 or 11 at night..while singing..nanananananananan

Joseph asks…

What are some good flowers to plant that will attract butterflies and different types of birds?

I wanted to attract humming birds and monarch butterflies and other things..i live in cincinnati, ohio.
Also, are there specific trees that might be good?

admin answers:

The 2 most obvious are butterfly bush and butterfly weed. Then there is zinnia, verbena, lantana, black eyed susan, aster, cone flower, day lilies, marigold, hibiscus, phlox, blazing star and more zinnias. I only mention zinnias twice because the more you cut, the more they flower, and you will have enough for the critters and the house. The cactus flower zinnias are especially nice. Then there is the lilac tree, crabapple and the dogwood tree. And Candy Cardinal Viburnum. Be sure to plant the butterfly weed. It is the only host plant that they ( monarchs ) will lay their eggs on.

Where can I download free bird calls to attract birds to photograph?

I have heard that some bird photographers use bird call recordings while they are shooting in the woods to help attract birds closer. I can’t find any decent MP3′s or Wav’s that are a good length..Are there any web sites offering this for free?

admin answers:

As a longtime avid birder, I would like to point out the American Birding Association’s principles of birding ethics, which advises: “Limit the use of recordings and other methods of attracting birds, and never use such methods in heavily birded areas, or for attracting any species that is Threatened, Endangered, or of Special Concern, or is rare in your local area…” http://www.naturephotographers.net/ethics.html

Jenny asks…

What type of berry bushes should I plant to attract birds?

I already have some blueberry bushes, and they attract lots of songbirds including Baltimore Oreals. I’m planning on planting more, and I was wondering what other type of bushes that would attract rare birds? Any suggesitons would be great. I live in Upstate NY, so the birds would be in the north-east.
Thanks!

admin answers:

You have lots of choices. If you can grow Alternate Leaf Dogwood, it seems that everybody comes to it in August. (Only time I have seen a Scarlet Tanager inches away from an Eastern Kingbird).
The proverbial High Bush Cranberry gets cleaned out in the spring by robins and waxwings and grosbeaks and such, after the fruit has dried down to raisins.
Serviceberry (Amelanchier) aka Juneberry is never left with hanging fruit in June.
Etc etc etc.

Mandy asks…

I put out a bird feeder, and no birds have come to feed. What can I do to attract birds?

We live in Jacksonville, FL, and no birds have come to see us. We put the feeder in the back yard with seeds that should attract the kinds of birds we have seen in out camphor trees, but they are not coming at all. We haven’t even had a squirrel.

admin answers:

Try sprinkling some on the ground all around the feeder

Sandy asks…

What are some tips for home gardening to attract birds?

Besides using bird houses, feeders, and baths. Do you use your flower beds and landscaping to attract birds to your yard? What plants do you use? How do you layout your garden in respect to birdbaths, feeders and houses?

admin answers:

The answers to your questions will depend on what birds you hope to see.

Cardinals, orioles and robins are not cavity nesters–they need trees and bushes to nest in. Bluebirds and swallows are cavity nesters, and need either old woodpecker holes or boxes. Wrens are also cavity nesters, but they, like bluebirds, need specialized boxes.

Food is the next question–unless you want to use feeders, you may want to use plants that provide food. Million Bells, Fuschia, Morning Glories–those will attract hummingbirds. Sunflowers will attract cardinals and bluejays. Robins, bluebirds and swallows are bug eaters, so feeders and plants will typically not attract them. Also consider plants, trees and bushes that will provide food over the winter (such as berries and seeds).

Layout will depend on your home and yard. For your own pleasure, you’ll probably want to lay out your garden so you can see the birds often from inside.

What role does the rising sign play in attracting women?

I think that it is more important than the Moon sign. People see you everyday as your outer self. My rising sign is Gemini. Women who want a witty, partner that makes them laugh is what they are looking for. My Moon sign is Taurus. I act more like a Gemini around ladies and they tell me so. My Sun is Aquarius. Thanks.

Why do people say Asian men and Indian men struggle with attracting women?

I never got it. India and China are the two most populated countries on earth. In my real life experience I have seen Asian and Indian guys date and marry beautiful white, latin, black, and all other kinds of females.

The only kind of guys i have seen end up loners without families have been White guys so why do people say Asian and Indian (India) men struggle with women?

admin answers:

Have you realize it mainly guys saying it, not girls.
And the reason why guys say it is because they can’t get girls themselves and would like to put down another race of guys to make them feel better

Linda asks…

are some people incapable of attracting women?

I am beginning to think that i am incapable of attracting women. I am a senior in college and have never even had my first kiss, all of my friends are in serious relationships and i feel like i am going to be left alone i have had people try and set me up with girls but they always seem weird ed out by me, i never know what to say because i for some reason can’t read body language. does anybody have any suggestions on what i should do. By the way at this point i am not looking to just get laid.

admin answers:

You need to get some dating advice. I did this when I was in high school, but hey, it’s never too late for that. If all of the women you have been dating didn’t really like you, you must have been doing something wrong. There is some great advice out there from experts who really know how to attract a woman, as lame as this may sound, their advice helped me a lot. Seriously, if you want to get this problem handled, check my resource.

How can I attract guys more my age and available!!!???

admin answers:

and then they will stop looking at you

Richard asks…

Why do I keep attracting married men?

I am single and keep meeting men who are really, really great. However, the down side is that I find out that they are married. I don’t look for married men, in fact the ring finger is the first place that I look. How can I avoid this in the future?

admin answers:

^Gary M^ She already said she does that. Attention to detail.

If a married guy is purposefully looking to have an affair, the last thing they do is wear a ring. But at the same rate, starting a relationship off by asking, “Are you secretly married?” is a buzz kill. You are showing immediate distrust and this will appear as extra unwanted baggage to the guy. Your best bet is to take it slow. This may help weed out the married guys who are just looking for a quick lay. Keep it traditional for a while and get to know him. Do not allow yourself to get emotionally invested in this person until you know him and honestly believe and trust his words. If after several dates you still feel distrustful due to past experiences, discuss prior relationships. Talk about your past difficulties with past dates and keep it light. Assure that he also talks about his experiences.

Past relationship that fail due to distrust can cause serious damage to a person’s esteem. While realizing you have to protect yourself from further repeats, remember to leave the baggage at the door. Stay confident. An abundance of great men are out there. Take it slow and throughly get to know the man. If he is married, he’ll slip up and show signs, but you will not have been overly emotionally invested at this point. You will find another fish!

Robert asks…

Girls, what types of clothing do you find attracting on men?

I know that it depends on the individual, but Im just curious about hearing different answers. What type of brands or styles do you like on guys? Is it attracting when a guy is into fashion?

admin answers:

Yes, I love guys who are into fashion! I got a thing for the preppy/casual look. Brands like sean john or ralph lauren or h&m are nice. I love it when the guy is styling & looking fitted in his clothes. I really don’t like it when his clothing is sloppy or boring or to baggy.

Lisa asks…

I keep attracting and getting attracted to men with deep psychological problems , WHY?

My ex husband had OCD and paranoia , he was also extremely aggressive and that is why i got divorce
My ex fiancee ( year and a hlf) had more issues than i can outline here but to mention few : aggression, anger , uncontrollable temper , vindictive and way too easily insulted
The three had one thing in common “always right attitude and never say sorry ”
Lastly I dated a guy who had a Histrionic personality and paranoia ..

Okay , now is there sthng wrong with me ?

admin answers:

Yes. You are a fixer with repetition compulsion. You are trying to fix early parental objects from your family of origin- transferring the outcome to romantic partners in the hopes that you’ll finally be victorious. It is a facet of your personality that you wish to appear worthwhile to these people- but in the end their disorders win out- exhausting you from abuse. You’ll spend the majority of the relationship trying to control the abuse- until one or the other breaks away. Then you replace him.

Steven asks…

for girls, at what age do you think you started attracting boys/men?

I’m 14 but look older for my age.
I believe that girls always attract boys ever since school starts,
but I was around 12 when I started to attract teenage boys and older men.

What do you think?

admin answers:

I think it was either 9 or 12.
